Background of the Study
IT infrastructure is the backbone of modern businesses, facilitating communication, data storage, and operational efficiency. However, deploying IT infrastructure in developing economies like Nigeria presents unique challenges, such as inadequate funding, unreliable power supply, and limited technical expertise (Olawale & Musa, 2023).
In Kogi State, businesses face significant hurdles in deploying and maintaining IT infrastructure. These challenges limit their ability to leverage technology for competitive advantage, growth, and innovation (Ahmed et al., 2024). This study reviews the key challenges associated with IT infrastructure deployment in businesses in Kogi State and explores potential solutions to address them.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the increasing importance of IT infrastructure for business success, its deployment in developing economies, including Kogi State, remains fraught with challenges. Issues such as high costs, poor internet connectivity, and inadequate government support hinder businesses from fully adopting and benefiting from IT systems (Bello et al., 2023). These challenges create a digital divide, reducing competitiveness and stifling growth in the region.
This study examines the major obstacles to IT infrastructure deployment in Kogi State and explores strategies to overcome these barriers.
